Hello, welcome to Oakwater resort. Laura and I live in Ottawa Canada and spent a year trying to purchase a 3BR ground floor unit in Oakwater. We finally succeeded in January 2011, fortunately snagging one very close to the pool and common area. We furnished it ourselves and it has been on the rental market ever since. We have been there twice now and truly enjoy what Oakwater and the nearby 'Strip' have to offer. The 'Strip' starts about a half mile from Oakwater and for 3+ miles includes every restaurant, souvenir store, hotel and family entertainment venue you could ask for. For the record, our favourites are Longhorns and Carrabbas, with the Miller Ale House being a close second (50 types of draft beer).

Our unit is located in the gated community of Oakwater, which is 1.5 miles from the Disney gates. The 4,000 sq. clubhouse features a lagoon-style pool, child's water-play park,tennis courts volleyball courts, basketball court, and the availability of an attraction shuttle. Our unit includes one king bed, one queen bed, two twin beds, playstation 2, 4 flat screen TVS, an iPod docking station, free wireless internet access, and fully equipped kitchen. There are 6 appliances including a full size washer/dryer.

The Tampa Bay Lightning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach are all less than 1 hour away by interstate highway.
